Hannah recently defended her research on measuring post-fire shrubland expansion in northern New Mexico. A big congratulations to Hannah on her excellent work! She’s now gainfully employed in the geospatial world!
This marks the last graduate student from my lab at Kent State. There were upwards of 15 students (graduate, undergraduate and a post-doc) that worked in my lab in some capacity during my four years as a professor (not bad considering the pandemic hit in my second semester). Preparing the next generation of thinkers and doers with the knowledge and tools (through integration in research) to tackle the challenges that face our world was one of the pillars of my lab. I’m really proud of all of them as they are now out there doing just that, whether it be in continued research, or the private and federal work sectors!
